Thames Kayaking Trip Information Page.

All of the trips we offer included the following:

·        Your own 2 man kayak, one seat has been removed to give you plenty of leg room. Our kayaks are the inflatable kayaks as they are more stable on the water and you are unable to roll them in the water. This enables novice kayakers and non-swimmers to feel safe at all times and also provides a comfortable trip, while more experienced kayakers are also very happy with them. If you are bringing a child along, we put the second seat back in so your child can share the kayak with you.

·        A life-jacket.

·        A guide for your complete trip

·      .Meet at the nearest railway station and returned to the nearest railway station at the end of the trip.

·       A hot drink, while listening to our Health & Safety info and paddling tips and advice.

Day Trip:

(About 4 hrs paddling with a full 3 course picnic at half way).

You will be met at the nearest railway station and walk or drive to the riverside where you will find the kayaks all ready to launch. Here you will be offered a hot drink and you get a chance to meet your fellow paddlers. Once everyone has a drink in their hands, you will be given the Health & Safety Talk as well as tips for paddling and what to expect of your day.

Once everyone has their life jacket on, you choose a kayak and we help you settle in on the water.

You are now on your way, through the various locks and there are lots of water fowl, fauna and edible treats along the way. We have seen otters as well as the occasional snake having a swim, beautiful houseboats alongside abandoned boats, colourful narrowboats and amphibious vehicles.  Every trip is different and the walkers along the banks are full of encouragement!

Everybody is hungry and thirsty after about 2hrs when we stop for a picnic lunch. The usual lunch table has a choice of 3 cold meats, a selection of up to 4 salads bread rolls & butter, followed by a dessert (maybe apple strudel and cream), plus a cheese board. Vegaterians are well catered for. Hot and ice cold drinks are available as well.  The lunch stop is usually an hour long, depending how eager everyone is to get going again.

Back onto the water for about 2 hrs and more things to see and locks to negotiate.

At the end of the day, you walk or are driven back to the nearest railway station or where you have parked your car.  BOOK HERE:  Cost: £62.00/adult and £40.00/child sharing a kayak with an adult.
